The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) recently began issuing North Dakota Farmers Union Foundation license plates to interested motorists. The standard plate has a NDFU Foundation logo on it with room for five additional characters.
NDFU President Mark Watne said the new plate will help generate income on an annual basis for the Foundation, which supports youth education and cooperative learning. For every plate sold, the Foundation earns $15 of the $25 annual plate fee.
Trailers and vehicles with a registered weight of more than 20,000 lbs. do not qualify for the new plate. A short one-page application (form SFN 54397) must be submitted to the NDDOT. Once approved, plates will arrive in the mail with a new registration card and renewal tabs. Allow four to eight weeks for delivery.
